14:35 – Take me back to Vermont! Please? This weekend was the section retreat for all the HBS sections and ours was in West Dover, Vermont at the Mount Snow ski resort. The hotel where most students and their partners were staying wasn’t pet friendly so Martin and I booked a room at a nearby B&B called Gray Ghost Inn; we couldn’t have made a better decision! They had a fire roaring when we got there, the sweetest black lab, and a fenced in yard for the pups to explore and run around in!

There were chickens! Of course, Sully thought they were there for him to chase.
Sweaters were worn
We + a few section mates partook in trap shooting (apparently different but similar to skeet shooting, the difference being in how the clay pigeons are thrown out).
(The Former) Captain Peters proving that the Army trained him well!
When in New England its best to dress like a country gal!
The shotguns. Right? Not rifles?
After shootin’ we stopped by a antique fair/farmers market, a perfect pair of his and her activities if I do say so myself (at least for the Peters! lol) I found some very cool architectural salvage pieces but didn’t take and pictures and wasn’t thrilled with the steep price tags so didn’t buy any either. But trust me, they were pretty! We did pick up a few Christmas gifts! :)
The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out with the section, walking some of the trails, and trying to stay dry.
duck boots + dogs in sweaters + fallen leaves
Martin reading the trail map and Ralphie wondering why she has to walk in the rain
I loved this house and the rugged landscaping

Would you believe that the colors were even more beautiful in person?
I wasn’t expecting to love so much a state I had never visited before and know hardly anything about. I also sort of thought that all the hype about the New England fall foliage was a bunch of bull, but no, no no no, there’s not much going on here in Cambridge yet but go three hours north and it is a feast for your eyes! I did not want to come back to the “big city” that’s for sure!
* My apologies for those of you who already saw these pictures on Facebook :)
